Jade Read is a motivated and people-focused Sports Therapist with a BSc (Hons) in Sport Therapy and Rehabilitation, incorporating Rehabilitation Psychology. She takes a practical, hands-on approach to treatment, helping people recover from work-related injuries, occupational aches and pains, repetitive strain, muscular tension and a wide range of musculoskeletal problems.
Jade has a particular interest in helping people whose work places regular physical demands on their body. Whether your job involves heavy lifting, repetitive movements, prolonged standing, driving, manual work or spending long hours at a desk, these everyday demands can contribute to muscular tension, pain, stiffness and restricted movement. Jade works with clients experiencing problems such as back pain, neck and shoulder tension, repetitive strain, lifting-related injuries, joint discomfort and persistent muscular aches that may be affecting their ability to work comfortably.
Hands-on treatment is a key part of Jade’s approach. She uses a range of soft-tissue and manual therapy techniques to help relieve muscular tension, reduce pain and stiffness, improve mobility and restore comfortable movement. Depending on the individual, treatment may include sports massage, deep and targeted soft-tissue techniques, mobility work and other manual therapy approaches.
Jade believes effective treatment should look beyond simply relieving symptoms. She takes the time to understand how an injury developed, the physical demands of your occupation and any movements or activities that may be contributing to the problem. Hands-on treatment can then be combined with targeted rehabilitation, strengthening and mobility exercises to help improve the body’s ability to cope with the demands of work and reduce the likelihood of symptoms repeatedly returning.
Her experience includes musculoskeletal injury assessment, soft-tissue treatment, exercise prescription and rehabilitation planning. This allows her to work with a broad range of occupational, sporting and everyday injuries, from work-related back, neck and shoulder pain to muscle strains, repetitive overuse injuries, joint stiffness and persistent aches and pains.
Jade’s background in Rehabilitation Psychology also gives her a valuable understanding of how persistent pain and injury can affect confidence and wellbeing, particularly when symptoms begin interfering with work, exercise, sleep or everyday activities. Her calm, supportive and encouraging approach helps clients gradually rebuild confidence in their movement and physical ability throughout their recovery.
Throughout each appointment, Jade explains what she is finding, why particular treatment techniques are being used and what can be done between sessions to support recovery. Where appropriate, she can also provide advice on movement, activity and strategies to help manage the physical demands of work.
Whether you are a tradesperson struggling with back or shoulder pain, an office worker experiencing neck and upper-body tension, a driver dealing with stiffness, someone working in a physically demanding occupation, or simply experiencing everyday muscular aches and pains, Jade will work with you to reduce discomfort, restore movement and help you get back to working, exercising and living more comfortably.
